Paradip International Cargo Terminal commenced its operation at berth no. 1 on 30th May 2018 with its first export vessel M.V. DMC JUPITER handling steel plates and steel rounds on account of M/s. Jindal Steel and Power Limited; and berth no. 2 on 16th September 2018 with the export vessel M.V. DAWEI handling steel billets on account of M/s. Saraf Trexim Limited.

PICT successfully achieved the highest ever loading rate in 24 hours for HR Coils of 18,256.880 MT into M.V. COMMON FAITH on 17th August 2018 by surpassing the previous records at PICT.
The first cargo of pig iron on M.V. Tan Binh 129 on account of M/s. MMTC was handled on 19th September 2018. The team used specialized fabricated bins for loading of pig iron into the vessel. PICT has procured 6 excavators with magnet attachment for unloading and loading of pig iron from rakes and feeding to vessel by trailers. Currently, 2 excavators with magnet are commissioned.
The terminal reached a greater height by achieving the discharge rate in 24 hrs for steel coated pipes of 6,184 MT from M.V. Propel Progress on 17th October 2018.
On 21st October 2018, it loaded steel pipes in a rake with 45 wagons within 5 hours and handled 14 rakes within free time without incurring any demurrages.
The first SFTO (BFNS rake) owned by TSL with H.R. Coils arrived at the terminal siding on 11th October 2018.
PICT has developed 450 meters length berth for accommodating two vessels at a time and having a draft of 17.1 M. Till date, PICT has successfully achieved a remarkable milestone from the day one by handling 40 vessels and about 166 rakes at its two sidings and has set many records.
